The culling of sharks should become illegal as it is only right and just. The culling of sharks is threatening to many of there species an some are becoming endangered . Sharks do not hunt humans, they will normally (if they are hungry) just take a bite then leave because they generally don't like the taste. Most beaches are secure with nets or drums which are reguarly changed with bait and are checked everyday. The aim of these drums is to reduce the threat of shark attacks at popular coastal locations. It aims to achieve this by reducing the number of potentially life-threatening sharks by attracting them to baited hooks, rather than to human activity. Once a shark is hooked on a drum they may take kill it if it has not already pasted away or relocate them. In some cases they don't even kill them to pretect beaches, they just do it for money, sport or for food. Some products or uses that people use sharks for are Shark skins, shark livers as food, Shark fin soup and shark steaks are all eaten in many countries. On average there are only 100 shark attacks a year and out of that 100 only around 10 lives are lost,But humans kill 1000's of sharks a year so, who is the real predator?.
Sharks were here on this earth first they diserve the rights of being alive, without them the food chain would be destroyed and the ocean would not be healthy. The majority of sharks being culled in Australia, belongs to Western Australia.Currently they have set out many policy and over 72 drums to kill sharks in that state. They did this because of 7 fatal sharks attack between 2010-2013. This is only a small amount seeing more people die from champayne corks and football, football kills 12 people a year and champayne corks kill 24 people a year thats more than sharks killed in 3 years in Western Australia. In conclusion shark culling should become illegal all over the world as it is pushing the shark species to the brink of extinction and deforming the natural foodchain intended. They are not harmful to humans, they take a bite out of us by mistake, they are alive animals that have been here longer than us and diserve the right to live!
